About VRI

Vipassana Research Institute is a non-profit body established by SN Goenkaji with the principal aim of conducting scientific research into the sources and applications of the Vipassana Meditation Technique. VRI also works for the Spread of Dhamma and related activities including support services for Vipassana Centers and students.

"चरथ, भिक्खवे, चारिकं बहुजनहिताय बहुजनसुखाय लोकानुकम्पाय अत्थाय हिताय सुखाय देवमनुस्सानं।

Teach, oh monks, the Dhamma, which is beneficial in the beginning, in the middle, and at the end - both the spirit and the letter of it. Make known the Noble Life, which is fully complete (requiring no addition) and pure (requiring no subtraction). There are beings with only a little dust in their eyes who will be lost unless they hear the Dhamma. Such persons will understand the truth."

Earn merit and deepen your Dhamma practice by volunteering as a Dhamma server. We invite dedicated old students to serve at the Vipassana Research Institute (VRI) . Your selfless service supports new and old meditators in finding peace.

Who Can Apply?

This opportunity is exclusively open to old students (those who have successfully completed at least one 10-day Vipassana course under S.N. Goenka or his assistant teachers).

Dhamma server who will stay at Pariyatti Bhavan and has to strictly follow five Silas and code of conduct of Global Pagoda. It is mandatory for all the Dhamma servers to maintain daily two hours of meditation practice preferably at 8 A.M. morning and 6 PM. evening

Roles & Responsibilities

Library Seva

1. Books Organizing, Maintaining and Accounting
2. Books Scanning or Digitalization

Digital Seva

3. Certificates Scanning of Students
4. Videos Editing

For above four types of seva, Dhamma server is required to stay at Pariyatti Bhavan and strictly follow five Silas and code of conduct of Global Pagoda. Food and accommodation will be provided. It is mandatory for all the Dhamma servers to maintain daily two hours of meditation practice preferably at 8 A.M. Morning and 6 P.M. Evening
